President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Donald Trump on his re-election as the 47th President of the United States.
Tinubu’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday.
The President’s message highlights a commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United States, underscoring the significance of collaboration amid complex global issues.
Tinubu expressed optimism that the renewed U.S. leadership under Trump could pave the way for enhanced economic cooperation, peaceful diplomacy, and a united approach to addressing shared global challenges.
“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens,” Tinubu said.
Onanuga noted that Tinubu interprets Trump’s re-election as a testament to the trust and confidence the American public holds in his leadership.

Reflecting on Trump’s experience as the 45th President, Tinubu envisions his second term as an opportunity to build impactful economic and developmental alliances between Africa and the United States, believing it will herald a “beneficial and reciprocal” era for both nations.
