The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has assigned newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police to various key departments within the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the strategic postings aim to enhance operational efficiency and bolster the Force’s ability to tackle emerging security challenges.
The six newly decorated DIGs, along with one Assistant Inspector-General of Police, have been deployed to critical departments. According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the assignments are as follows, DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar will head the Force Criminal Investigation Department, DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo has been posted to the Force Intelligence Department, DIG Williams Adebowale is now in charge of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi will oversee the Department of Operations, DIG Adebola Ayinde Hamzat takes over the Department of Logistics and Supply, DIG Idegwu Basil Okuoma will lead the Department of Research and Planning.
Additionally, DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya has been reassigned to the Department of Finance and Administration.
IGP Egbetokun expressed confidence in the ability of the senior officers to bring their expertise to bear in their new roles.
“These postings are aimed at maximizing the experience of these officers to strengthen our operational efficiency. We remain committed to strategic deployments that will enhance the capacity of the Force in addressing security challenges,” he stated.
The Nigeria Police Force reassured the public of its continued commitment to maintaining law and order, emphasizing that the new appointments would further improve policing efforts across the country.
