Lagos State Police Command has detained a 25-year-old woman for allegedly collaborating with her younger brother and another accomplice to rob her boyfriend of three iPhones and bitcoins valued at approximately N15 million.
Confirming the arrest, the command’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, said the case was reported at the Okota Police Division on February 17.
“Upon receiving the report, officers swiftly moved into action and apprehended the woman,” Hundeyin told journalists in Lagos on Saturday.
He further revealed that investigators tracked down and arrested the suspect’s 22-year-old younger brother following her confessional statement.
“Both suspects have confessed to the crime,” he added.
According to Hundeyin, police have so far recovered the stolen phones and N6.5 million, which have been registered as evidence.
He assured that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the remaining accomplices involved in the crime.
