Brazilian and Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Junior, is set to sit out two La Liga matches against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid after receiving a red card during the clash with Valencia.
The incident, which saw Vinicius sent off for striking Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, occurred as Real Madrid secured their first league win of 2025 at the Mestalla.
Despite the suspension, the winger remains eligible to feature in this week’s Spanish Super Cup.
Valencia took the lead in the first half through their leading scorer this season, Hugo Duro.
However, Real Madrid staged a late turnaround in dramatic fashion. Substitute Luka Modric equalized in the 85th minute, setting the stage for Jude Bellingham’s stunning injury-time winner.
The victory propelled Real Madrid to the top of the La Liga standings, moving them two points ahead of Atlético Madrid, albeit with an additional game played.
Following the match, Vinicius took to X,, writing:, “Sorry, and thanks, team!”
