Gian Piero Gasperini’s team strengthened their position for a potential spot in the competition’s top eight.
Mateo Retegui opened the scoring early, capitalizing on a defensive error from the visitors.
The lead was doubled in the 58th minute when Mario Pasalic struck to put Atalanta in firm control.
Charles De Ketelaere added a third goal five minutes later, bundling the ball over the line. In the 90th minute, he turned provider, setting up Ademola Lookman for the fourth.
Substitute Marco Brescianini then capped off the emphatic win with a stoppage-time goal.
With the result, Atalanta climbed to third in the standings with 14 points, pending the outcomes of Tuesday’s later fixtures.
Meanwhile, Sturm Graz, sitting in 31st with just three points, were officially eliminated from contention for the knockout phase playoffs.
