President Bola Tinubu has commiserated the family, friends, and colleagues of the late former Group Managing Director of the erstswhile Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Dr Thomas John, on his demise.
Tinubu sent his condolence message in a statement on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President Media on Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
John, a former Non-Executive Director at United Bank for Africa Plc, who was also a seasoned administrator and oil and gas industry professional, died at the age of 84.
In the statement, Tinubu identified John’s outstanding and impactful commitment to developing the Nigerian oil and gas sector, commending his years of relentless service to the nation, adding that versatile expertise widely acknowledged by industry players and colleagues.
He equally prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and divine comfort for those who mourn the loss of this distinguished Nigerian.
He also served as a Non-Executive Director at South Atlantic Petroleum.
