Three people sustained varying injuries late Tuesday night in a multi-vehicle collision involving a trailer, a Toyota Camry, and a Lexus car on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The accident, which occurred at around 11:36 p.m. near the Agbo-Malu axis of Age-Mowo, was confirmed by Mr. William Manga, Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, during an interview in Badagry.
“Our personnel received an alert at 11:42 p.m. and arrived at the scene within 10 minutes to manage the situation,” said Manga.
He explained that the collision involved a Renault trailer with registration number BK 672 RB traveling from Badagry, a Toyota Camry with registration number JJJ 574 JP, and a Lexus car without a number plate.
“Five individuals were involved in the accident, but three sustained injuries of varying severity,” Manga disclosed.
The injured victims were promptly taken to the Lagos State Mobile Clinic for medical attention.
Manga attributed the crash to a loss of control and driver inattention while navigating the expressway. He confirmed that the damaged vehicles had been cleared from the road to restore traffic flow.
The FRSC official urged passengers to hold drivers accountable by discouraging speeding and unsafe driving practices.
“Passengers should speak up when drivers are speeding. Motorists must also remain cautious, particularly on the one-lane sections of the expressway,” he advised.
