AC Milan staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 3-2 victory over struggling Lecce in Serie A on Saturday, with Christian Pulisic playing a key role by converting a penalty to equalize before sealing the win late in the second half.
Milan appeared to take an early lead twice, only for both goals to be disallowed for offside within the opening 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, Lecce capitalized on their opportunities, with Nikola Krstovic unleashing a stunning long-range strike to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage going into the break.
Krstovic struck again before the hour mark, doubling Lecce’s lead and putting the visitors under pressure. However, Milan found a lifeline when Lecce defender Antonino Gallo inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
Moments later, Pulisic confidently slotted home from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute to restore parity. The American midfielder then completed the turnaround by netting the decisive goal from close range.
With this hard-fought victory, Milan climbed to eighth in the standings with 44 points after 28 matches, while Lecce remains in a precarious position, sitting 16th, just three points above the relegation zone.
