The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, challenging the leadership of the State House of Assembly under Speaker Martin Amaewhule.
According to Channels, a five-man apex court panel, led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, delivered the ruling on Monday, awarding a cost of ₦2 million against the governor.
The amount is to be paid to the Rivers State House of Assembly, listed as the first respondent, and Amaewhule, the second respondent.
The court’s decision followed the withdrawal of the suit by Fubara’s counsel, Yusuf Ali.
