Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Folasade Coker, the executive secretary of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy.
The goal of the initiative, which is a leadership and mentoring program of the State Government, is to create tomorrow’s leaders today for African public service and government.
Folasade’s appointment was based on her stellar track record and achievement in a number of leadership roles.
In a career spanning more than 30 years, Folasade has held several leadership positions in both the public and commercial sectors. She is the CEO and Visionaire of Coker & Castle Nigeria Ltd, a management consulting and coaching business that she and Derek Castle co-founded in 2003.
She has extensive expertise in team development, marketing, leadership and management, as well as training on interpersonal and communication skills.
As the LJLA’s executive secretary, Folasade’s duties will also include establishing the organization’s structure and budget, as well as proactively evaluating the program’s development.
She will be in charge of managing the Leadership Academy’s business affairs. She will also be responsible for the overall welfare of the fellows and help them develop into all-around leaders on a mental, emotional, and physical level in order to help them reach their fellowship goals.
By giving them the necessary tools to have a positive impact on the public service and instilling in them the ethics and values of purposeful leadership through direct mentoring and on-the-job training, the goal is to support the LJLA vision of developing future leaders while ensuring the effective management of the academy in all areas.
