The Portuguese football federation has named former Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, as the new coach of its national team.
According to Reuters, this was disclosed by the FPF President, Fernando Gomes during a news conference in Lisbon on Monday.
“I appreciate the enthusiasm and ambition with which he (Martinez) received the invitation.
“This is an important moment for the national team” he added.
The 49-year-old Spaniard takes over from Fernando Santos, who stepped down as the Portuguese coach after the team’s elimination from the 2023 Qatar World Cup
