The newly appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-ete Ibas (retd.), has arrived in the state to officially commence his duties.
According to The PUNCH, Ibas landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, where he was welcomed by top government officials and security personnel.
Upon arrival, he proceeded directly to the Government House in Port Harcourt, accompanied by Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 16.
At the Government House, the retired naval officer was taken on a tour of the premises by senior officials before heading into a closed-door meeting with key security personnel, a Federal Government delegation, and state officials.
Vice Admiral Ibas was officially sworn in as Sole Administrator by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday. His assumption of office marks the beginning of his tenure overseeing the affairs of Rivers State.
