Real Madrid’s victory over Osasuna came at a steep price, with injuries to both Rodrygo and Lucas Vazquez adding to their growing list of sidelined players.
The club on Monday, confirmed that both players would be out for several weeks due to muscle injuries sustained during the first half of the match.
Rodrygo, who has struggled to secure consistent minutes in La Liga this season, was forced off the pitch just 20 minutes into the game.
Despite limited playtime—667 minutes in La Liga—Rodrygo has managed to make an impact with three goals and one assist.
Known for his agility on the wing, he has also put in the third-highest number of crosses (22) for Real Madrid this season.
His dribbling skills have been similarly influential, with 32 attempted dribbles and 14 successful take-ons, placing him among Madrid’s top dribblers.
However, the Brazilian winger is now set to miss an estimated five to six weeks.
Vazquez lasted slightly longer on the pitch but was substituted at half-time, as his injury also forced him to withdraw.
His absence is expected to be around a month, which could leave manager Carlo Ancelotti scrambling for right-back options.
Dani Carvajal, Madrid’s first-choice right-back, is already out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, adding to the team’s woes in that position.
These setbacks follow a more severe blow, Real Madrid announced on Saturday that Eder Militao underwent surgery for an ACL tear, also suffered in the first half against Osasuna.
The string of injuries leaves Ancelotti facing difficult choices as he juggles a depleted squad amid a packed fixture list.
