The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, especially as the Ramadan fast begins.
This assurance was given by the State Commandant, Shafi’u Abdulmumini, during an address to officers on Saturday following a road walk organized to mark International Civil Defence Day.
“We will redouble our efforts in ensuring the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure,” Abdulmumini stated.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, emphasized that the annual Civil Defence Day serves to highlight the Corps’ role in maintaining law and order.
“The objective of this celebration is to raise awareness about disaster preparedness, prevention, and response,” Abdullahi said.
“It also fosters community engagement in emergency response measures and acknowledges the dedication of NSCDC officers.”
As part of the celebrations, a special prayer session was held at the Jum’at mosque in Kwankwasiyya City on Friday, led by Chief Imam Barrister Sheikh Habibu Dan Almajiri, who prayed for divine guidance and protection for NSCDC personnel. A church service is also scheduled for Sunday.
