The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended two individuals in connection with the death of a 25-year-old motorcycle rider, Dauda Manu.
The command’s spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, revealing that the victim’s lifeless body was discovered with multiple injuries along Dosho Village, near Darazo.
“On 05/03/2025, an incident report was available at the disposal of Darazo Divisional Police Headquarters that a motionless body of an unidentified individual was found lying along Dosho Village, near Darazo, with multiple injuries,” Wakil stated.
Following the discovery, a police team, led by the Divisional Police Officer, visited the scene and transported the body to the General Hospital in Darazo, where medical personnel confirmed Manu’s death.
Investigations revealed that Manu was last seen alive on March 4, 2025, riding his Boxer motorcycle with two unidentified men as passengers.
As the inquiry progressed, police traced the victim’s motorcycle to Gombe State, where they arrested Yau Buba, a 25-year-old resident of Minchika Village in Darazo Local Government Area.
“During interrogation, Buba confessed that he bought the motorcycle from one Buba Muhammadu for the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira,” Wakil added.
Following this revelation, police apprehended Muhammadu on March 21, 2025.
Wakil confirmed that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiries, adding, “The suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.”
