Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, delivered an impressive performance, netting twice as Galatasaray edged past Samsunspor with a thrilling 3-2 victory in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
Osimhen’s goals marked his seventh and eighth of the season, underscoring his vital role in the team’s successful campaign.
Despite missing Mauro Icardi, their star forward sidelined due to injury, Galatasaray’s offense was relentless.
Osimhen opened the scoring with a powerful finish in the first half, giving Galatasaray the upper hand before Olivier Ntcham leveled the match with a penalty for Samsunspor.
In the second half, Osimhen struck again to reclaim the lead, honouring his injured teammate Icardi with a heartfelt goal celebration.
As the clock ticked down, substitute Michy Batshuayi added a decisive third goal, which ultimately became the game-winner after Samsunspor’s Youcef Aït Bennasser pulled one back late in the game.
Galatasaray weathered a tense finale but held on to secure their 10th win in 11 league games, further solidifying their place at the top of the standings.
