The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command, has deployed 3,150 personnel to ensure secure and peaceful conduct in the upcoming local government elections on November 16.
The NSCDC Commandant in Ogun, Mrs. Remilekun Ekundayo emphasized the corps’ commitment to safeguarding voters and preventing any disruptions.
“Our personnel will be strategically positioned across all 20 local government areas to maintain order and protect the public,” Ekundayo told reporters.
In outlining the corps’ responsibilities, Ekundayo explained, “The NSCDC’s role is not only to protect lives and property but also to uphold law and order and secure critical infrastructure during this critical time.”
She also issued a strong warning to any individuals intending to disrupt the electoral process or incite violence.
“We will not hesitate to take necessary action against anyone who attempts to compromise the peace,” Ekundayo stated.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, she noted, has shown a commitment to ensuring that the elections are transparent, credible, and free of violence.
