The Nigeria Police Force has officially launched the NPF Insurance Company Limited, a new initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of police personnel while offering insurance services to the public.
According to the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the unveiling is set to take place on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, at 11:00 a.m.
The establishment of the NPF Insurance Company underscores the Force’s commitment to addressing the welfare and security needs of its officers, who face daily risks in the line of duty.
The company also aims to provide financial solutions to the public through a variety of tailored insurance products.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, who is spearheading the initiative, highlighted the significance of the project, saying, “This marks a new chapter in our efforts to prioritize the well-being of our personnel. The NPF Insurance Company will not only serve our officers but will also bridge the gap in the public’s access to reliable insurance services.”
The inauguration event will feature prominent figures, including the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, as the Special Guest of Honour.
Other attendees include the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; state governors; members of the National Assembly; and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd.).
Retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Olufemi Adenaike, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, expressed optimism about the company’s future, stating, “This initiative is a testament to our commitment to innovation and service excellence in Nigeria’s insurance sector.”
The Inspector-General further emphasized the dual purpose of the initiative. “By catering to the needs of our officers and extending these services to the general public, we are fostering a stronger relationship between the police and the communities we serve,” he said.
