The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has projected a mix of sunshine and hazy conditions across different regions of the country from Saturday through Monday.
In its weather outlook released on Friday in Abuja, NiMet forecasted that the northern and North Central states would experience sunny and hazy conditions on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the southern part of the country is expected to have cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine in the morning, followed by thunderstorms in parts of Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Edo, and Delta states later in the day.
As the weather pattern progresses into Sunday, the agency maintained that a hazy atmosphere with clear skies would persist across the North and North Central regions.
In contrast, the South would continue to witness cloudy skies mixed with sunshine in both inland and coastal areas
The likelihood of thunderstorms remains high in parts of Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun, Edo, Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa states.
By Monday, NiMet predicted that the sunny and hazy weather would persist in the North and North Central regions, while the South would see cloudy conditions with spells of sunshine in the morning.
Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over Lagos, Edo, Bayelsa, and Cross River states.
Given the presence of dust particles in the atmosphere, NiMet advised the public to take necessary precautions, especially individuals with respiratory conditions such as asthma.
The agency also urged airline operators to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and obtain airport-specific weather updates to facilitate efficient flight planning.
