The Nigerian Exchange Limited wrapped up the trading week on a bullish note as the equities market capitalization surpassed the N60 trillion milestone on Friday.
This performance was driven by gains in the share prices of notable stocks, including ARADEL, CAVERTON, and IKEJA HOTEL, among others.
After five hours of trading, the equity capitalization rose by N375 billion, closing at N60.2 trillion, up from the N59.8 trillion recorded on Thursday.
Similarly, the benchmark All-Share Index climbed to 99,378.06 from the previous 98,760.59.
The market recorded a positive breadth, with 37 stocks advancing, 14 declining, and 72 remaining unchanged across 8,464 deals.
On the gainers’ chart, ARADEL, CAVERTON, and IKEJA HOTEL saw their share prices increase by 10 percent each, closing at N550.00, N1.98, and N8.80, respectively, from N500.00, N1.80, and N8.00 per share.
Conversely, AUSTIN LAZ, ABC TRANSPORT, and ROYALEX led the losers’ chart with declines of 10 percent, 8.00 percent, and 7.69 percent, respectively.
Their share prices closed at N1.62, N1.15, and N0.60, down from N1.80, N1.25, and N0.65.
In terms of trading volume, JAPAUL GOLD led with 71 million shares exchanged in 120 deals, followed by E-TRANZACT with 70 million shares traded in 49 deals. TANTALISER recorded 57 million shares traded across 155 deals.
On the value index, ARADEL topped with trades worth N781 million in 320 deals, followed by OANDO with N732 million in 551 deals. ZENITH BANK completed the top three, trading shares valued at N622 million in 291 deals.
