The Chairman, Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has called on the National Emergency Management Agency and other relevant agencies to investigate recent fire incidents that occured in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Alli made this call in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, on Monday.
At least four fire incidents have been recorded in Oyo State in recent days with the last reported fire incident occured at Sango market on Sunday.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, charge the relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the fire incidents in the state.
The All Progressives Congress chieftain condoled the traders at Sango Market in Ibadan over the inferno, which destroyed goods worth millions of Naira.
He identified the need for prompt action and support from relevant authorities to render assistance to the affected traders in recovering from the incident.
The lawmaker equally urged the Oyo State Government and well-meaning individuals to assist the traders financially, rehabilitate the affected shops, and provide necessary resources to help them rebuild their businesses.
