Lagos State has kicked off its highly anticipated 72-hour shopping festival, set to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
The event, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture in collaboration with Chain Reaction Ltd, aims to combine commerce, culture, and entertainment to deliver a vibrant experience for residents and visitors.
According to The PUNCH, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, highlighted its significance in boosting local businesses and connecting them to global opportunities.
“The Lagos Shopping Festival will feature over 500 vendors, offering an extensive array of products ranging from fashion and electronics to beauty items, home decor, and gourmet food,” Aregbe said in a statement on Sunday.
“Whether you’re seeking holiday gifts, the latest gadgets, or unique fashion pieces, you’ll find something extraordinary at every corner.”
The festival, which runs non-stop for three days, is designed to support the growth of the fashion and retail sectors while celebrating the craftsmanship of local artisans.
Aregbe emphasized that the initiative also aims to bridge small businesses with larger markets.
“Our goal is not just to promote trade but to elevate local creativity and artistry while giving Lagosians and tourists an unmatched shopping experience,” he stated.
The event promises more than just shopping, as it will also feature live performances, entertainment, and diverse food options. According to Aregbe, the festival is a reflection of Lagos State’s cultural vibrancy and commercial energy.
“This is not merely a shopping event. It’s a celebration of Lagos State’s dynamic culture, creativity, and commerce,” he concluded.
