Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, has refuted claims that she has stepped down from her position.
According to The PUNCH, Meranda’s Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, dismissed the speculation on Wednesday, emphasizing that she remains in office.
“I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from,” Ajiboye stated.
The rumors stemmed from an online report and a purported resignation letter dated February 17, 2025, which had been circulating for days. However, closer examination of the letter revealed it lacked an official signature.
The Lagos State House of Assembly has been embroiled in a leadership tussle since the ousting of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa by a majority of the lawmakers.
