Inter Miami delivered an impressive performance in Panama, securing a dominant 3-1 win over Sporting San Miguelito.
Following consecutive preseason draws, Miami traveled south in search of their first victory under new head coach Javier Mascherano.
However, the night didn’t start in their favour, as Adan Hendricks put the hosts ahead in the 24th minute.
Determined to respond, Miami increased their attacking intensity, and their persistence paid off just before halftime. Making his first preseason start, 19-year-old Benjamin Cremaschi found the net, bringing the Herons level at the perfect moment.
With momentum on their side, Miami came out of the break eager to take control. Just three minutes into the second half, Tadeo Allende netted his debut goal for the club, giving Miami the lead. His effort was soon followed by Fafà Picault, who extended the advantage and put the game firmly in Miami’s hands.
Sporting San Miguelito’s troubles deepened in the 71st minute when Aymar Cundumí was sent off, reducing the home side to 10 men.
From there, Miami comfortably managed the game, securing a well-earned victory without the need for a penalty shootout.
