Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, opened up about her past traumas, revealing that she had been a victim of rape on five occasions.
The thespian made this disclosure in a recent interview on Biola Bayo’s talk show, Talk to B, share online.
She passionately condemned rape apologists, highlighting her unwavering stance against such acts.
Sharing deeply personal experiences, Iyabo Ojo spoke about her family struggles, including her father’s battle with addiction, which ultimately claimed his life at the age of 49.
She also recounted her unconventional upbringing, being raised by her grandmother until meeting her mother at the age of seven.
“I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically,” she stated emphatically.
The actress also delved into her father’s struggles, saying, “My dad did everything, alcohol and drugs, so it messed him up at a young age. He died at 40.”
Reflecting on her early years, Iyabo revealed, “I grew up with my grandmother, who is half Delta and half Igbo. I think I was seven before I knew my mother.”
Iyabo further clarified misconceptions about her connections, adding, “I have never met Naira Marley before my entire life. The only time I lacked was when I insisted this was the man I was going to get married to because, at that time, my dad and I disowned each other.”
