Manchester City Talisman, Erling Haaland, has leveled up with Premier League legends such as: Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer, having scored 34 goals in a league’s season.
City, on Sunday, played as visitors at Fulham, with Haaland scoring a penalty in the 4th minute to equal the record for the most goals in a single PL season.
His 34th goal of the campaign moved him level with the totals of Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, set across a 42-match season, in 1993/94 and 1994/95 respectively.
In a more impressive move, Haaland reached his 34th goal mark in only his 30th appearance in the club, with Cole taking up to 40 matches and Shearer, 42.
The Norwegian has already surpassed the previous record of 32 goals scored in a 38-match season, which was set by Mohamed Salah during his maiden season for Liverpool in 2017/18.
It was Haaland’s 50th in all competitions this season, with only Dixie Dean, netting 63 times for Everton in 1927/28, scoring more while in the top division of English football across a single campaign.
Haaland is also nine goals ahead of his closest rival, Harry Kane of Tottenham, in the race for this season’s Castrol Golden Boot award (player with the most goals).
