The caretaker chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, Zacchaeus Michael, was abducted by gunmen on Friday night. The incident occurred along the Kabba-Okene Road in the Kabba region.
According to The PUNCH, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, confirmed the kidnapping on Saturday.
Aya reported that the state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has initiated a search-and-rescue operation to locate the chairman and his abductors.
Sources who preferred to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the situation revealed that Michael was taken along with some of his aides.
One source stated, “The CTC Kabba/Bunu Chairman, Zacchaeus Dare Michael, and several of his aides were kidnapped by gunmen on the Kabba-Okene Expressway in Kabba.”
Authorities are actively seeking any information that could assist in the safe recovery of the kidnapped individuals.
