Rose Idibia, the mother of veteran musician Innocent Idibia, known as 2face, has raised an urgent plea for Nigerians to intervene on behalf of her son, asking the public to help convince Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osaworu to leave 2face alone.
In a video that circulated on Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia expressed her concern about her son’s well-being, claiming that he is not in the right state of mind due to ongoing divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him.
“Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him,” she pleaded.
This comes after a video surfaced on Thursday showing 2face proposing to Osawaru.
The clip captured the singer and the lawmaker enjoying a dance together, with their friends looking on. Later in the video, 2face presented Osawaru with a ring, and they shared an embrace.
The video went viral, especially following 2face’s public acknowledgment of his romantic relationship with Osawaru, which caused a stir on social media.
The news surfaced shortly after 2face’s separation from his wife, Annie Idibia. The singer openly stated his intentions to take things further with Osawaru.
Speculation about their relationship had been building after 2face was seen at the Edo State Assembly and a video of them together at a Lagos nightclub circulated.
Responding to the rumours, 2face shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday, saying, “Allegedly, I have seen so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her.”
