Prof. Jesse Otegbayo has been reappointed as the Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital in Ibadan for a further tenure of four years.
This was stated by the health minister, Dr. Osagie Ehanire on Monday.
In the Board Room of the teaching hospital, the Minister also gave the CMD the certificate of reappointment.
Professor Otegbayo studied Medicine at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan from where he graduated MBBS in 1989.
He underwent his residency training programme at the University College Hospital, Ibadan in 1992 in Internal medicine, with bias in Gastroenterology.
He obtained the Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians in 1998, having won the Bassir-Thomas Biomedical Foundation grant to study Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C in acute icteric hepatitis in 1997.
It would be recalled that Prof. Otegbayo was appointed in 2019.
