Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has vowed that justice will be given to residents who are victims of police brutality in the state.
Soludo made this known in a statement released by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on Sunday in reaction to allegations of criminalities and human right abuses by police officers in Zone 13 Headquarters Ukpo and the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu.
Soludo commeneded the assured residents that justice is served “should any nefarious activities be uncovered.”
The statement added, “To this end, he has instructed the Attorney General of Anambra State to review all files pertaining to cases created by state laws currently being handled by RRS. This will enable the Attorney General to make any necessary decisions or take legal action in accordance with Section 211 of the Constitution as well as Sections 148, 149 and 150 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Anambra State 2022.
“The Governor of Anambra, Dr. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has made it clear that crime and lawlessness will find no privilege in his administration. This position aligns with the principles of justice and equity, ensuring that all citizens who abide by the rule of law are treated fairly.
“My administration has zero tolerance for criminality and will always allow the rule of law to reign supreme at all times while ensuring that justice is meted to those who deserve it,” he assured the citizens.
The governor urges those living within and outside Anambra State to show patience while justice runs its course.
