An explosion rocked Jos on Tuesday morning, leaving several people injured.
According to The PUNCH, the blast occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the bustling Terminus market, one of the city’s most populated areas, according to local sources.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as people fled the area, fearing further explosions. “I was nearby when I heard a deafening noise,” said Gyang Buba, a local vendor. “Everyone started running and screaming—it was terrifying.”
Emergency response teams, including the police, fire department, and medical personnel, arrived swiftly to provide assistance.
However, initial details about the extent of damage remain unclear as authorities continue their assessment.
The Plateau State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
However, a police source confirmed that the area has been sealed off while investigators work to determine the cause of the blast. “We are urging the public to remain calm,” the source stated, “and assure them that every possible measure is being taken to ensure their safety.”
