A former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga (retd.), was on Thursday reportedly kidnapped by bandits in his hometown of Tsiga village, located in the Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to The PUNCH, the attackers, armed with guns, stormed the village around 12:30 AM, opening fire indiscriminately to instill fear among the residents.
During the raid, they killed one person and abducted at least nine others. In addition to the kidnappings, the bandits ransacked several homes, making off with valuables.
Eyewitnesses described the situation as chaotic, with residents scrambling for safety as the armed assailants carried out their attack.
Authorities are yet to release further details about the situation, including any efforts to locate and rescue the kidnapped victims.
