Former Liverpool star, Roberto Firmino, recently traveled to Differdange, Luxembourg, for the inauguration of Manah Church, a Brazilian evangelical congregation.
During his visit, the 33-year-old footballer, who currently plays for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, engaged with local youth, sharing his journey, experiences, and offering guidance to aspiring players.
Firmino’s spiritual path began after his baptism in 2020, which led him and his wife, Larissa Pereira, to establish Manah Church in Maceió, Brazil.
In June 2024, he took a significant step in his faith, becoming an ordained pastor.
Reflecting on his transformation, he expressed a strong desire to “share the love that changed my life.”
Footballers across the world are increasingly using their platform to share their faith, both on and off the pitch.
Through testimonies, mentorship, prayer, and leading by example, they are proving that football is more than just a game, it’s “a platform to make Jesus known.”
