Crystal Palace fought back to secure a 2-1 win over Premier League strugglers Southampton at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
Southampton took the lead in the 15th minute, with Tyler Dibling scoring his second-ever Premier League goal.
The talented young player converted a low cross from Adam Armstrong into the net, giving the Saints an early advantage.
However, Palace responded in the 31st minute when Trevoh Chalobah met a Will Hughes corner with a well-placed header to equalize.
Early in the second half, Eberechi Eze put Palace ahead with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, sending the ball into the corner of the net.
That was the last of the goals, as Palace held on to claim their fourth league win of the season, moving them up to 15th in the table.
For Southampton, the defeat meant they have now won just once in their last 19 league matches, remaining firmly at the bottom of the standings, 10 points adrift of 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Southampton started brightly, with Dibling’s goal giving them hope of a rare second win.
Yet, Palace’s composure allowed them to level the score before Eze’s stunning goal put them in front, and the Saints were unable to respond.
Ivan Juric, who took over at Southampton, must have known the difficult task ahead, with his side now 10 points away from safety, making the challenge to stay in the Premier League even harder.
While Dibling continues to show promise as one of the league’s top young talents, Southampton’s inability to find a consistent goalscorer is proving to be a major hindrance in their relegation battle.
The match unfolded with Southampton taking the lead in the 15th minute as Dibling fired in from close range following an Adam Armstrong cross.
It was a significant moment for the Saints, but their lead lasted only 16 minutes. In the 31st minute, Palace equalized as Chalobah headed home a Hughes corner.
Then, in the early stages of the second half, Eze’s stunning goal from outside the box gave Palace the lead for good.
MAN OF THE MATCH: EBERECHI EZE
While Chalobah also impressed with his solid performance at the back, Eze stole the show, particularly in the second half. His brilliant strike secured the win for Palace.
The 26-year-old was a constant threat, registering six shots and completing 21 of 25 passes, including one key pass. His energetic display was crucial in helping his side secure all three points.
