Bournemouth secured a convincing 3-1 victory over struggling Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, with Dango Ouattara, Ryan Christie, and Marcus Tavernier finding the net in a dominant Premier League performance.
The visitors wasted no time asserting their authority, striking twice in quick succession.
Ouattara set the tone in the 14th minute with a precise glancing header, and just two minutes later, Christie doubled their advantage.
Southampton managed to reduce the deficit in the 72nd minute when Kamaldeen Sulemana fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 83rd minute when substitute Tavernier sealed the win for Bournemouth.
With this result, Southampton remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just nine points from 25 matches, while Bournemouth climbed to fifth place with 43 points.
