The billionaire entrepreneur, Elon Musk, has reportedly shown interest in purchasing Premier League club Liverpool, according to his father, Errol Musk.
With an estimated net worth of $418 billion, Musk has recently become a key ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Reports indicated that Musk contributed approximately $270 million to the Republican Party, supporting Trump’s return to the White House.
Since Trump’s election win in November, the two have been spotted together at various events, including celebrations at Mar-a-Lago, UFC matches, and college football games.
Now, it seems Musk’s focus might be shifting to English football.
Known for his groundbreaking work with Tesla, SpaceX, and X, the 53-year-old entrepreneur appears to be eyeing an expansion of his business empire through the acquisition of one of the most famous football clubs in the world.
During an interview with Times Radio in London, when asked about Musk’s potential interest in Liverpool, Errol Musk responded cautiously.
“Has he expressed a desire to buy Liverpool Football Club?” a reporter inquired.
“I can’t comment on that. They’ll raise the price,” Errol Musk replied, chuckling.
Pressed further on the matter, Errol acknowledged that his son had indeed shown interest but stopped short of confirming any official negotiations.
“Oh, yes. But that doesn’t mean he’s buying it,” he clarified. “He would like to, yes, obviously. Anybody would want to—so would I!”
When asked about Musk’s connection to Liverpool, Errol Musk highlighted the family’s deep-rooted ties to the city.
“His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we had relatives in Liverpool. We were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know,” he shared.
Musk has previously spoken about his grandmother, Cora Amelia Robinson, who was born in Mossley Hill, Liverpool, in 1923.
She lived through challenging times, growing up in poverty during the Great Depression, working hard to support her family, and eventually emigrating to South Africa in 1944.
Elon Musk once fondly remembered her, calling her “an important part” of his childhood and stating that she taught him strong values.
“My Nana was one of the poor working-class girls with no one to protect her who
