The Edo State Government announced on Monday the renaming of Edo State University, Uzairue, to Edo University, Iyamho.
This was revealed in a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.
According to Ikhilor, the decision was approved by the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and the name change takes effect immediately.
The statement further mentioned, “It is hereby announced for the information of the that the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the change of the name of ‘Edo State University, Uzairue,’ to now be known as ‘Edo University, Iyamho’ with immediate effect.”
The statement also indicated that all future documentation related to the institution would reflect this name change.
