Delta State-based Isoko highlife musician, Arube Otor, widely known as Isoko Fela, is preparing to marry three women simultaneously and has revealed his plans for ensuring sexual satisfaction among his wives.
A decision, he said was inspired by his upbringing and guided by love, unity, and cultural tradition.
The wedding, scheduled for January 19, 2025, will take place at London Base, Uzere Kingdom, in Delta State.
Arube, who hails from Uzere in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, shared the motivations behind his unconventional decision.
“My father was a polygamist, and he married three wives. Growing up, we lived in harmony. You couldn’t tell which child belonged to which wife. That unity shaped my view on family life and inspired me to marry three wives on the same day,” he explained.
He revealed that his wives-to-be share a deep bond, which also influenced his decision.
“The love they have for each other is rare. They genuinely care for one another, and I saw this as an opportunity to foster unity in my household,” he said.
Arube disclosed that his first wife, who has been a significant part of his life, supported his decision.
“I was already married to my senior wife, and when I informed her about my plans, she cooperated. She even knew the women while I was dating them and admired their characters,” he noted.
Arube has a structured plan to ensure fairness among his wives. “Each wife will spend three days with me, and during those days, she will also prepare my meals. This rotational arrangement will help maintain balance and harmony in our home,” he said.
The musician, who has nine children and expects another before the end of the year, insists he is financially and emotionally prepared for the demands of a polygamous marriage.
“With God’s help, I can handle this. I share what I have fairly, and I trust God to provide for us,” he stated.
Arube emphasized that the entire family will live together in one compound to promote unity.
“Living together helps us bond better. This is how we ensure everyone feels included and loved,” he added.
The musician revealed that he plans to marry two more wives, making it a total of six.
“If you meet people you want to marry, you marry them. Everything is a matter of luck,” he said.
Addressing criticism, he said, “God rules my life, not human beings. If someone doesn’t like my lifestyle, they can leave me alone. I believe in living my life as it suits me.”
When asked about his message to society, Arube advised people to follow their hearts.
“Don’t do something just because someone else did it. If you can handle it, go ahead. If not, don’t. Live your life according to what works for you,” he said.
Speaking about loving his wives, Arube expressed admiration for the unique qualities.
“Some are excellent in intimacy, others are great homemakers, and some are exceptional cooks. These qualities made me fall in love with them,” he said.
He advised younger generations to focus on character in marriage.
“A woman’s character is key. If your wife has everything you need, there’s no need to look outside. Whatever lifestyle you choose, ensure you can handle it before starting,” he concluded.
