Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has openly criticized the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, over his alleged role in the ongoing political tension in the state.
The controversy stems from claims by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who alleged that a plot was underway to incite violence in the state.
According to the governor, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, in collaboration with key security officials, including the Commissioner of Police, was working to reinstate previously sacked local government chairmen.
Governor Adeleke, speaking on Sunday, warned that any unrest in the state should be blamed on Oyetola and the security chiefs.
“I want to alert the public that there is a conspiracy to forcefully return dismissed local government chairmen to office, despite two Federal High Court rulings against them. This is a clear attempt to destabilize the state,” he said.
Reacting to the situation, Davido, who is also the governor’s nephew, took to social media on Monday to express his frustration. He called on the police commissioner to uphold the rule of law and vowed to continue speaking out until justice is served.
“Mr. Commissioner, respect the rule of law! You are not madder or crazier than us! If you want madness, we will all be mad together,” Davido tweeted.
In another post, he directly addressed the police chief, saying, “Mr. Umar Abba, Osun State Commissioner, you are a disgrace to your children! Game on! All of us go mad together!”
