The All Progressives Grand Alliance National Chairman, Ike Oye, has expressed optimism that the party will take over the Abia State in 2023.
Oye said this in Umuahia at the launch of the Greg Ibe Campaign Council for the general election of 2023.
“If you do not strive for leadership you would not get it,” the APGA national leader stated.
He boasted that the APGA governorship candidate in Abia, Greg Ibe, will take over from incumbent Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, on May 29, 2023, saying that “God has spoken and has spoken.”
“Those opposing our primary election in Abia are political dissidents. Our primary in Abia State was fair, free, and open. Those who went to court have nothing to offer.
“APGA has offices in all the 36 states of Nigeria and Abuja while a regional office is being constructed at Awka in Anambra State,” he added.
On his part, Ibe said people he appointed to his council were men and women of integrity.
“2023 is the year of APGA. If not Jesus what can we do on this earth? People from even North- Kano, Jigawa, among others have been calling me, declaring their support for me. Who said APGA is not a national party?” he queried.
He added that findings from both DSS and Police affirmed that APGA primaries were the fairest, most transparent, and open ones.
He said that since he declared for APGA, more than 400,000 Abians had registered with the party.
While speaking, the campaign council’s chairman, Longman Emeka Nwachukwu, assured the APGA leadership of the team’s commitment to work tirelessly in winning the election.
