The Samuel Ladoke Akintola Memorial Foundation has announced that its annual memorial lecture and colloquium will take place with notable dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, expected to attend.
In a statement issued by the foundation’s coordinator on Monday, Yemi Adedokun, it was revealed that the keynote address for this year’s lecture will be delivered by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
“The event will also have President Tinubu, alongside all South West Governors in attendance, underscoring the importance of this annual intellectual discourse. The chief hosts for the occasion include Governor Makinde, Abayomi Akintola, Abimbola Akintola and Justice Ladiran Akintola,” the statement read.
Former Oyo State Governor and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashid Ladoja, will preside over the occasion as the Chairman of the Day.
The lecture will also feature a colloquium led by an esteemed panel of experts, including Rotimi Animasahun, Lekan Alabi, and Remi Olalere, to discuss contemporary socio-political issues aligned with the vision of Samuel Ladoke Akintola.
“The lecture has become a pivotal platform for intellectual exchange, honouring the contributions of the Ogbomoso-born late premier of the Western region and Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland Samuel Ladoke Akintola to Nigeria’s political and cultural development,” Adedokun added.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2025, and will be held at the Great Hall of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
