LBayern Munich staged a comeback to secure a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart on Friday, stretching its Bundesliga lead to 11 points.
Despite an early setback, Bayern claimed its ninth win in 10 league matches, dashing the hopes of its closest rivals who had anticipated a slip-up.
Stuttgart had taken the lead in the 34th minute, capitalizing on a strong start. After already striking the woodwork, the home side broke through when Angelo Stiller, a former Bayern academy player, unleashed a stunning 20-meter shot into the top corner.
However, Bayern found its response just before halftime. Michael Olise latched onto a perfectly timed defense-splitting pass from Leroy Sané and finished clinically in a one-on-one situation.
Leon Goretzka, stepping in for the injured Joshua Kimmich, edged Bayern ahead in the second half, while Kingsley Coman sealed the victory with an impressive solo effort in the closing minutes.
For Stuttgart, the defeat added to its struggles, with just four points from the last six league outings. Last season’s Bundesliga runner-up has now slipped to seventh place.
