The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has placed four individuals on its wanted list for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking syndicate associated with Lagos-based drug kingpin, Alhaji Suleiman Ganiu, also known as Barryshine.
Barryshine was apprehended on August 26, 2024, two years after being flagged by the agency for his suspected criminal activities.
According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, Barryshine, the Managing Director/CEO of Barryshine Suleiman Nigeria Ltd., came under scrutiny due to his involvement in four foiled cocaine export attempts to Saudi Arabia and Qatar through Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos between 2022 and 2024.
Babafemi added that numerous drug mules linked to Barryshine’s operations had been arrested, prosecuted, and convicted, while he himself is currently facing multiple criminal charges.
Four other individuals have now been declared wanted in connection to the syndicate: Olarenwaju Abdulai (a.k.a. Alhaji Loyingbo), Oluwafemi Abidoye (a.k.a. Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya), Olumuyiwa Ilori (a.k.a. Murphy), and Alate Bukki of Kaffy Travels.
“The suspects were declared wanted following a court order by Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos,” Babafemi explained. “The judge also ordered that a public notice with the suspects’ photographs should be conspicuously displayed.”
He urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects to reach out to the nearest NDLEA office, call the toll-free helpline at 080010203040, or send direct messages through the agency’s social media accounts.
