Juventus’ struggles to convert draws into wins continued on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Torino in a heated Serie A derby.
Nikola Vlasic’s equalizer canceled out Kenan Yildiz’s opener in a match that saw both managers receive their marching orders.
The game began brightly for Juventus when Yildiz struck in the eighth minute, curling a low shot from outside the area after a neat setup by fellow youngster Nicolo Savona.
The early goal gave the visitors an edge, but Torino grew into the contest and leveled just before halftime. Vlasic unleashed a fierce shot that ricocheted off the post and into the net during stoppage time.
The second half was marked by tension, culminating in red cards for coaches Paolo Vanoli and Thiago Motta following a scuffle sparked by Savona’s challenge on Yann Karamoh just outside Juve’s penalty area.
Juventus pressed for a winner, with Nico Gonzalez coming closest, but Torino’s goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic produced an outstanding save to deny him.
Milinkovic-Savic’s heroics ensured Juventus extended their unbeaten run in Serie A but also marked their 12th draw in 19 matches this season—a record matched only by Inter in the 2004-05 campaign.
Juventus remain fifth in the standings with 33 points, while Torino, now 11th on 22 points, have played one more game than their city rivals.
Milinkovic-Savic was pivotal for Torino, making eight saves to frustrate Juventus.
This performance mirrors his standout display in October 2022, where he registered seven saves in a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Bianconeri.
Notably, he is the first Torino goalkeeper to achieve at least seven saves in two Serie A matches against Juventus since Opta began tracking such data in 2004-05.
