The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a female nursery school teacher captured on video physically assaulting a four-year-old pupil.
The disturbing footage, filmed at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, shows a teacher named Stella Nwadigo violently mistreating a young boy, Abayomi Micheal, who is only three years old.
The shocking video has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about the safety and care of children in educational institutions.
In a statement on his X handle, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the teacher’s detention, saying, “Thank you for the update. She is currently in our custody for further necessary actions.”
The footage, which has since gone viral on social media, has triggered a wave of public outcry, with many calling for swift action to be taken to ensure the protection of children in schools.
The police are now investigating the matter further as they work to ensure accountability.
