Arsenal were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Fulham, missing a chance to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to just four points.
The Gunners once again found success from a corner, but their dominance at Craven Cottage wasn’t enough to secure all three points.
For the second time in four days, Arsenal capitalized on a set piece early in the second half. Declan Rice’s corner was met by Kai Havertz, whose header deflected off William Saliba to level the score at 1-1.
It marked Arsenal’s 23rd goal from a corner since the start of last season. Saliba’s goal stood after a lengthy VAR review for offside, but the technology later dashed Arsenal’s hopes of a late winner.
Bukayo Saka’s header from Gabriel Martinelli’s cross was ruled out due to the latter being offside in the build-up.
Arsenal dominated the game, but Raul Jimenez’s clinical finish after just 11 minutes gave Fulham the lead.
The Mexican forward exploited space after shaking off Jakub Kiwior’s marking and fired past David Raya to put the hosts ahead.
The Gunners created numerous opportunities, particularly from corners, to take control of the match. Saliba missed an early chance, glancing a header wide, while Thomas Partey failed to convert another delivery from Rice.
Arsenal thought they had secured victory late on when Saka found the net, but VAR intervened to deny them.
With the Merseyside derby postponed due to Storm Darragh, Arsenal’s draw reduced Liverpool’s lead at the top to four points.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side will rue this as a missed chance to apply more pressure in the title race.
