Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has expressed her commitment to continuing her service to Nigeria despite her recent departure from office.
According to The PUNCH, Ohanenye was one of five ministers relieved of their duties following the 19th Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday.
In her place, President Bola Tinubu appointed former Minister of State for Police Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, as the new Minister of Women Affairs.
The President thanked the outgoing ministers for their contributions to the nation and wished them well in their future endeavours.
Ohanenye extended her gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, describing it as a great honor.
“I am profoundly grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting me the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honor and a privilege to contribute to the nation’s development,” she stated.
She also took the time to thank Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her support and guidance throughout her tenure, which she credited as being pivotal to her achievements in office.
“To Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I offer my deepest thanks for her invaluable guidance and support. Her encouragement played a significant role in my success as Minister of Women Affairs,” Ohanenye added.
In her message, the former Minister also expressed gratitude to the people of Nigeria for their trust and support during her time in office, pledging to remain committed to the country’s progress.
“To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply thankful for your unwavering support. Your confidence in me has been a source of inspiration. I will continue to do my best to contribute to the progress and prosperity of our great nation,” she concluded.
