Gombe State Government on Monday, made a generous contribution to the Batch B Stream II corps members currently participating in the three-week orientation course at Amada, Akko Local Government Area.
According to The PUNCH, in a press statement issued by the Information Officer of the Secretary to the Government of the State, Joshua Danmalam, the donation was intended to enhance the corps members’ meals at the camp and alleviate the impact of rising food costs.
Governor Yahaya Inuwa, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Adamu Inuwa, emphasized the importance of this support during these challenging times.
The Governor said, “The donation is to augment the feeding of corps members at the camp and cushion the effect of the rising cost of food items.”
Governor Inuwa also extended his best wishes to the corps members, assuring them of Gombe’s renowned hospitality. His gesture aims to ensure that the corps members have a comfortable stay while they fulfill their national service.
Upon receiving the food items at the temporary orientation camp, Chinwe Nwachuku, the State Coordinator for NYSC in Gombe State, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the governor’s thoughtful contribution.
Nwachuku assured that she would convey the governor’s support and kindness to the Director-General and senior officials of the NYSC.
This act of generosity underscores the state’s commitment to supporting the corps members throughout their service period.
