Personnel of the Ondo State Police Command has arrested three staff of the Emure-Ile Comprehensive Health Center, Owo, over the case of a missing placenta of a new baby.
According to the state police public relations officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a nurse, health assistant and security officer have been arrested in connection with the missing placenta.
According to the reports, the concerned family raised alarm after the hospital workers failed to hand over the placenta following the delivery.
The 23 year-old, Father, Tunde Ijanusi and 19 year-old Mother of the child, Joy John who explained what transpired, said they are worried over the failure to give them the placenta of their new born by those who took the delivery.
Mrs Funmilayo Ijanusi, paternal grandmother to the baby , said the hospital officials claimed that a dog entered the facility, carting away the placenta.
She also added that the hospital personnel persuaded the family to let go of the matter.
