Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth has addressed the long-standing feud with his colleague, Ayo Makun, also known as AY, and why he was bounced out of his wedding ceremony.
He addressed the subject during a podcast session with the Honest Bunch crew, where he stated categorically that he was never friends with AY.
Speaking on AY’s claim of being bounced from his wedding, Basketmouth said that he only invited his friends to his wedding, and every other person not on the list of guests was not allowed in.
The recently divorced comedian added that even comedy legends like Gandoki and Bayo Adekeye who he described as his “bone man”, weren’t allowed into the ceremony as their names weren’t on the guest list.
According to him, he met AY through Ali Baba, the comedy king, and had never acted as his mentor.
The true cause of Basketmouth’s distance from AY is not what the latter thinks it is but something he heard about him at the inception of their acquaintance.
Although the father of three accused AY of using lies about their feud to promote his upcoming show, stating that it was his usual tactic, he added that his reason for not allowing AY into his circle is not coined around that.
Recall that AY had been requesting Basketmouth’s forgiveness over a N30k debt he claimed he owed the comedian, from an event’s proceeds.
